Und auch unter den hochpreisigen-/marken-/"guten"- Herstellern mehrere Außenschalen noch lange kein Standart sind.
There were 4 bikes and 2 cars involved, 2 bikes leading with a car separating our 2 bikes from them. We were travelling back towards the Mumbles from Pennard coming towards the Beaufort Inn just before the dip into the Quarry before you get to the Mayals common. A white Renault Megane travelling in the opposite direction, was on the wrong side of the road across the double white lines, just missed the lead bike, clipped the 2nd bike but the rider managed to keep it upright and there was no damage, he then hit the car (a white Suzuki Baleno) which was spun into the grass verge and subsequently written off, the bike in front of me was a Kawasaki GPZ500 with an inexperienced rider on board, whom I was shadowing, the Kwaka rider slammed his brakes on and the Megane gave him a glancing blow but managed to break his right femur and send him flying into the grass verge also, the Megane then proceeded onto me, and as it was a left hand bend, I knew that if I braked, then the front was going to wash out and I was going under the car, so I stood the bike up and scrubbed as much speed off as I could before hitting the car dead centre of the bonnet, I was flipped over the handlebars and hit the windscreen with the back of my helmet at approximately 20-30mph, knocking myself out, but thankfully coming out of it free of any damage bar a sore neck and a permanent depression in my left shin.
My helmet was an AGV K-series rossi design.
Pictures of my helmet, bike and the two cars are below.

gebraucht bei ebay?
The Paramedic told me (he was also a biker) that he had lost count of the number of serious head injuries he had seen as a result of people saving money by buying cheap helmets. He told me that at least half of them could have been avoided by just having a decent lid from a reputable make. He also said that the only reason that I was still alive was the fact that my helmet was such a good one.
It looked as if it was fine as well, but once you took all the lining out and held it up to a light source you could see that the rear of the shell where I hit the windscreen had a spiderweb shattering effect right in the middle of it. Thank god I decided to buy a good lid. Buy the best you can afford I say!
